Suna Taymaz

Suna joined AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah in 2016 and brings more than 16 years of experience in strategy, innovation, and new business development.

As Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer, Suna is responsible for leading the Club’s business strategy and innovation agenda. She oversees the Club's innovation lab, A3Ventures, which has developed new products such as the award-winning GIG Car Share service. Suna also oversees GoMentum Station, the largest autonomous vehicle test facility in the United States, which is the centerpiece of AAA's autonomous vehicle safety research.

Under Suna’s leadership, the Club conducted the first and largest self-driving pilot project in the United States, helping more than 32,000 riders experience the benefits of self-driving technologies. The project was a recipient of the 2018 Smart 50 Awards for mobility, a designation that honors the 50 most transformative smart projects each year.

Prior to AAA, Suna held leadership roles in corporate strategy and innovation at Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), including launching the utility’s $250M technology investment program in smart grid and clean energy technologies.

Suna received her Masters of Business Administration from The Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine, and Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Carleton University in Canada. She has also attended the University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business.

Outside of work, Suna is an avid motorcyclist, skier and enjoys traveling.
